Project Description:
The overall goal of the project is improving the practice of, and increasing the number of relevant stakeholders to be engaged in the processes of local budgeting, and increasing the overall effectiveness of the expenditures of municipal funds. The specific objectives of the project include increasing the involvement of local stakeholders – civil society, the business community, citizens, local media – in local budgeting processes; increasing awareness of local people about how spending municipal money affects their quality of life; increasing the credibility and efficiency of local government decisions regarding public spending, as well as raising awareness on transparency.
