The citizens who participated in the first Citizen Climate Assembly in Skopje, accompanied by representatives of ZIP Institute, recently visited several municipalities to present the report and findings from the Assembly. This initiative aimed to directly engage local authorities by sharing the recommendations crafted by the Assembly participants, which address Skopje’s most pressing issue: air pollution. The visits provided a platform for citizens to discuss the proposals and advocate for urgent measures to improve air quality in the city, ensuring that the voice of the people is heard at the municipal level.
Throughout these meetings, the ZIP Institute facilitated conversations between citizens and municipal representatives, emphasizing the importance of local government action in implementing the recommendations. The Assembly’s findings highlight practical solutions, from enhancing public transport and improving waste management to amplifying urban green spaces. These visits are part of the broader goal to foster collaboration between citizens and authorities to tackle air pollution effectively, ensuring healthier and more sustainable urban living for all.
