ZIP Institute is pleased to announce the successful completion of the call for sub-grants within the project “Empowering Vulnerable Communities: Catalysing Climate Action through Climate Assemblies,” funded by the European Union under the CfP EuropAid/180645/DD/ACT/MK.
A total of 16 applications were received from civil society organizations across North Macedonia, demonstrating a strong interest and commitment to advancing local climate action and participatory governance. After a thorough evaluation process, six organizations have been selected to implement local Climate Assemblies in their respective municipalities:
Scientific Institute for Leadership and Action (SILA)
Eko Zhivot
Rural Coalition
RESET HUB Debar
InoYouth
Association for Civic Development “For Tetova – Tetovo”
These organizations will lead inclusive deliberative processes that engage energy-vulnerable citizens in developing local climate and energy policy recommendations. Through this initiative, ZIP Institute aims to foster participatory democracy, strengthen local resilience, and empower communities to take an active role in shaping sustainable solutions to climate challenges.
We look forward to collaborating closely with our new partners in the coming year to advance North Macedonia’s path toward a more sustainable and climate-resilient future.
