ZIP Institute is proud to announce that the Skopje Climate Assembly has been awarded three stars in the category Associations/Citizen Collectives at the 2025 Prix de la Participation, organized by Décider Ensemble and the French Government.
This prestigious recognition celebrates innovative participatory initiatives that empower citizens and strengthen democracy by giving people a real voice in shaping the future.
The award ceremony will take place on 21 November 2025 at the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, bringing together pioneering organizations from around the world to highlight best practices in democratic participation and citizen engagement.
The Skopje Climate Assembly represents the first citizens’ assembly on climate in North Macedonia and the Western Balkans. Designed and implemented by ZIP Institute, the initiative brought together everyday citizens to deliberate on climate policy and co-create recommendations for a more sustainable future.
This honor acknowledges the pioneering spirit of the Assembly and the dedicated citizens and partners who made it possible — reaffirming the power of inclusive, participatory dialogue in driving collective action on climate challenges.
