ZIP Institute as an organization strives to catalyze ideas, research, discussion and change and serves as the vehicle for the dissemination of knowledge and solutions to some of the pressing issues in today’s society.

We are currently working on the project “Countering Violent Extremism among Young People in Macedonia”, which focuses on the complementarity of the immediate consequences and effects in Macedonia of the waves of migration and the influx of refugees in recent years on one hand, and the phenomena of radicalization and violent extremism among individuals across different religions and belief systems on another.

As part of this project, we would hear from people who are involved in the processes of studying, examination, research, policy making, discussion and education on the topics related to our project and offer them a chance to be a contributor on the topic.

Your contribution can cover a wide range of topics in the spheres of human rights, international relations, politics and policy making, social sciences and law among others.

What are we offering?

We would like to offer you with a platform where you can showcase your work. Your publication will be published on ZIP’s website, all of our social media platforms and it might be published on the platforms of our (international) partners.

Moreover, you might receive a symbolic financial award for your publication.

What are we looking for?

Commentaries, reports, essays or interviews relevant to the core subject of the CVE project. For more information on the format and content guidelines of the contributions, please click HERE.

Expertise: You do not need 20+ years of work experience in the field (although if you do, we would love hearing from you too!) but you must have knowledge on the topic you would be writing about.

Originality: Your contribution should be original. You should be the sole author of your own contribution (we could consider contributions by more than one author on a case per case basis). If you are writing about a well-worn topic, we would be looking for a unique perspective or insight.

Objectivity: The contribution shall be objective and adhere to the basic standards for academic research. We are welcoming opinion pieces, however, the platform we are offering does not serve for the promotion of radical and hateful ideas.

Evidence: By providing the readers with examples and with references to supporting research, you would be further providing knowledge and educating the readers on the topic. If you have interesting information or data – showcase it in your piece!

Interested? Let us know!

If you are interested in showcasing your publication as part of our CVE project, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jovana Perovska at jovana@zipinstitute.mk or send your general enquiries at info@zipinstitute.mk.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and reading your pieces!
